“How whacky are you willing to get?”

Main-ImageDesigner Alexander McQueen is known for his eccentric creations and he introduced the visor AW12 as an unmissable accessory during his Autumn Winter 2012 fashion show.

The visor AW12 seems set to become the ultimate accessory for the coming season. We ask some of our readers about how whacky are they willing to get and this is what they had to say.

Sara Ajjoor, Library Administrator, Gulf International Bank

“I don’t think I would ever try out something so whacky. I always prefer to wear something that is simple, especially in accessories. And more importantly, I only pick up those things that I feel will suit me. Very unusual stuff is not something I am comfortable with. In fact, I don’t recall having ever bought any unusual eyewear. I prefer the more regular designs.”

“I don’t mind experimenting with my looks and clothes. But getting whacky with eyewear is not something that I see myself doing. At the most I might go for a colourful frame or oversized sunglasses that have a brown or red lens. But I think that would be the limit for me, when it comes to whacky eyewear.”

“I would love to buy one of Lady Gaga’s eyewears, especially the ones which had vertical slits. But that is not something that one wears regularly. It is more like making a statement at a party or a social gathering. However, such unusual eyewear is generally very expensive to even be bought as an impulsive purchase.”

“This is a fashion statement that inspirational celebs like Rihanna and Lady Gaga would be sure to make. Furthermore, the Alexander McQueen Visor does offer the benefits of UV protection and can function as sunglasses, but how would one store the visor when they’re not wearing it? I feel like they’d need a hatbox as opposed to a typical sunglasses case.”

“These shades are awesome and I am so going to get them for myself. But these would be in my wardrobe for special occasions. Even though these are not really blingy, I feel this is soooo Dubai. It’s loud, it’s definitely noticeable and striking. I am currently out of Dubai.. but the day I land in Dubai I am definitely heading out to buy these!”
