Today, the Group’s headquarters are located in Oberkochen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.

The introduction of Punktal ® marks the start of the high volume production of ZEISS eyeglass lenses in the OPTO department (now ZEISS Vision). The first axially-symmetric eyeglass lenses.

1917

First state school for ophthalmic opticians in Jena, sponsored by the Carl Zeiss Foundation. 1935 ZEISS patent for the world’s first technique for the durable coating of antireflective glass surfaces.
