Dr. Beatrice Bourghardt Peebo PhD has been appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the hospital
Dr. Beatrice Bourghardt Peebo is a highly experienced consultant ophthalmologist, skilled in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of complex eye conditions. She has a special interest in Uveitis and medical retinal conditions such as diabetes and vein occlusions. Dr. Peebo has additional general ophthalmology experience including corneal diseases and glaucoma, and angiogenesis and corneal/diabetes clinical trials.
Dr. Peebo was educated and undertook her medical and ophthalmology training in Sweden, including the Medical School at the University of Lund, and a PhD in Angiogenesis from the University of Linkoping. She then held a number of senior posts at hospitals in Sweden including the University Hospital Linkoping, where she was Consultant Ophthalmologist, Fellow Ophthalmologist and Specialist Registrar. Dr. Peebo’s experience includes Observing Clinician at Moorfields Eye Hospital London, Uveitis Service.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Peebo has extensive teaching and medical training experience, as an Assistant Professor, and undertaken clinical research and pre-clinical trials. She has been an organiser, speaker and moderator at international ophthalmology conferences. Dr. Peebo is a European Board of Ophthalmology examiner and has served as a member of the Board of the Swedish Society of Ophthalmology. She is also a Member of ARVO – the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology.
