Dr. Osama Giledi, FRCS, has been appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist with the clinical team at the hospital
Dr. Osama Giledi is a Specialist in Cornea and Refractive Vision Correction Surgery. He is an experienced consultant ophthalmologist with a wide range of experience in Cornea, Anterior Segment and Keratorefractive surgery. He is also skilled in managing ocular surface problems and recipients of stem cell allografts, and performs modern refractive cataract surgery with premium multifocal implants. Dr. Giledi is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of complex corneal conditions including performing modern corneal graft procedures. His experience in refractive surgery includes LASIK and LASEK procedures, as well as phakic IOLs and kerarings.
Dr. Giledi undertook his ophthalmic training in the UK and practiced at a number of hospitals in the UK after qualifying, where he spent over 20 years. He then returned to Tripoli Eye Hospital, Libya, as Senior Registrar and head of the theatre unit, before coming back to the UK to complete his higher subspecialty training in corneal and refractive surgery. He practised at the Corneoplastic Unit and Eye Bank at Queen Victoria Hospital, London and then joined specialist laser clinics in the UK performing complex refractive surgery. Dr. Giledi relocated to Dubai, providing cornea, Refractive and cataract surgery services.
In addition to his clinical commitments, Dr. Giledi has extensive experience in teaching and training, both nationally and internationally, and research published in peer-reviewed journals. He is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the United Kingdom & Ireland Society of Cataract andRefractive Surgeons, and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
