With a night full of entertainment, glamour and excellence the fourth edition of the prestigious ZEISS ‘YOU&EYE’ AWARDS was a successful night that the optical industry will always remember
The show that brought Indian Opticians from Delhi to Kanyakumari together, the ZEISS ‘YOU&EYE’ AWARDS 2019 showed off the spirit of healthy competition where some won, some lost but everyone was celebrating. A feeling of more is more but less is not less! The spirit of oneness. One community, one business.
Held on Nov 24, 2019, the just-concluded ZEISS ‘YOU&EYE’ AWARDS was an event of celebration of the optical industry. The event was attended by many a stalwart of the optician community from across the country. It had sixteen awards to be won from different categories of the business and the winners again were from across the country.
As reiterated by us, ‘YOU&EYE’ AWARDS is an idea initiated jointly by ZEISS and YOU&EYE to bring oneness in the optician community and inspire and celebrate excellence in the optical business in the country. Its success, therefore, shows that the community is supporting the idea wholeheartedly. Not to forget, it’s also due to the support being extended by its sponsors.
The ZEISS ‘YOU&EYE’ AWARDS this year saw over 500 entrants which is an all-time high. This is an encouraging trend that will lead to more and more joining the bandwagon in the coming seasons.
Coming back the current season, from the date of calling entries to the awards to the announcement of the date of the event it turned out to be of interest to a multi-state, multi-city audience. The same was true to the acceptance of an invitation to the event and attendance at Pride Plaza Hotel, Aerocity, Delhi. Close to two hundred guests from across the country enjoyed every moment of the goings-on on the stage. While announcing of nominations of each category raised suspense in the audience announcing the winners and the winners receiving the awards had them cheering.
Yes, there were winners like R Kumar – Ahmedabad, Classic Vision – Mumbai, Eyesavers- Hubli and Mukta Opticians – Goa who won the awards in the earlier seasons as which is adding to their spirit of working harder for excellence continuously. And those like Gangar Eyenation – Mumbai and Eye Care Opticals, Jalgaon who won the award for the first time and were enthralled by their own performances.
The Lifetime Achievement Awards of this edition went to Shree Dayal Das Kalra and Shree Ronnie Talati respectively for their significant and important contribution to the industry.
While the Fashion Shows by Tommy Hilfiger and SunSensors made the audience cheer and applaud. The performance by Nakash Aziz, one of the Bollywood singing sensation raised the bar of entertainment in its own way.
