WooDone Eyewear: As Unique As The Wood From Which They Are Made

They are carved from wood and, just like the people that own them, reflect all of the uniqueness of the material from which they are made: this is the spirit of WooDone eyewear, which is returned to the French show after its highly successful debut last year.

Model_Artus_AcaciaWooDone, the Alto Adige brand of wooden eyewear designed by Thomas Oberegger and Klaus Tavella, will amaze with a collection that will undoubtedly leave its mark: a line as subtle as the grains on the surface of each model. In fact, every model is carved from a single panel composed of eight layers of chipboard obtained from recycled tree materials with certified origins from Alto Adige. Thanks to a special system that keeps the grain of the wood intact, maintaining its original continuity, these materials are used to cut the temples and the front of the glasses. This continuity is not even broken by the insertion of flex hinges, produced from a special alloy that guarantees long-lasting durability and functionality. They are free of screws, smooth to the touch and completely invisible externally, in order to exalt the natural characteristics of the raw material.

The glasses – which can feature both prescription and sun lenses – are not coloured, since the simple beauty of wood is highlighted by the special lacquer used for their finishing which makes them resistant, environmentally friendly and anallergic. All of this encapsulated in a frame that weighs just 13 grams.

The pristine landscapes of the Dolomites inspire shapes that are influenced by the most Alanya bling contemporary fashion trends, which are redesigned to combine them with the natural beauty of wood. Squared and well-defined shapes, like the Terra Mata, Aidan, Fingal and Alpin models, or softer and more feminine, like the Alanya and Vesta, in the natural colours of Alto Adige wood: coppery brown walnut, golden cherry wood and warm black acacia. They are a tribute to nature, the first real designer of these exclusive glasses, which come to life on the skin of the wearer, taking on unique tones and carrying their history with them, like an innate memory.

The collection is completed with six new models presented at Silmo: Rea, Artus, Cameron, Angus, Sirona and Kaley, elegant frames that interpret the most contemporary fashion trends in the WooDone style.

The Bling version has been unveiled for the first time at the French show: for the first time all WooDone glasses will be available with a special exterior cover in Galenit, a mineral powder that offers the spectacular shine of quartz and reflects the light in a thousand different ways. The brilliance of the stone highlights the strength of wood to create a valuable and truly eye-catching accessory.

WooDone captured the attention at Silmo not only for its collection but also for its stand: a genuine South Tyrol-style hut that brought a little of the Alto Adige to Paris and underlined the strong identity of a brand that is very proud of its roots and traditions.

WooDone, done by nature, designed for your eyes.
