The new eyewear collection takes inspiration from the human body and reworks the spine and bone to create unique eyewear designs
The Alexander McQueen eyewear collection for Spring/Summer 2015 explores creative interpretations of signature detailing seen on the brand’s accessories and ready-to-wear pieces. With references to the body anatomy, the spine and bone are reworked to create innovative eyewear designs.
FLEXI SPINE
AMQ 4269/S and AMQ 4276
An iconic image and design of the house, the spines of the skeleton, are used as a decorative and functional metal element on the leg of the temples. With a flexible structure, it ensures balance and shape. The aviator style sunglasses are available in black/silver with grey shaded lenses and dark havana/brass with brown shaded lenses. The rectangular optical frame, embellished by a stylised version of the spine, is offered in black/havana, dark havana, havana blue or brown.
METAL BONE HINGE
AMQ 4273/S, AMQ 4272/S and AMQ 4278
The style of this design features a ‘ball and socket’ metal bone on the hinge and temple of the sunglasses and optical frames. Used with the women’s butterfly acetate style and the men’s metal square sunglasses, it is available in transparent shades and classic colours respectively.
The metal bone hinge detail is also offered with the cat eye acetate optical frame which is available in black/palladium, dark havana/gold, grey/gold and blue/ruthenium.
CUT OUT EFFECT
AMQ 4274/S and AMQ 4280
Inspired by Alexander McQueen’s laser cutting techniques to create a geometric cut-out pattern, this texture is applied to the flat metal temples of the eyewear designs and offered in black/palladium, dark Havana/gold, blue/gold, opal burgundy/palladium.
