For Spring/Summer 2015, the new Tom Ford Eyewear collection continues to showcase provocative new sunglass frames for women and men. Optical frames include a spectrum of silhouettes like the cat eye and aviator that get refined with clean lines and striking new ways of merging acetate and metal.

Women’s sunglasses include the Celina (TF361), a vintage shape for women that defies expectation in shades of pearlised silver-lilac, gold-bronze with ivory temples and grey-peach mélange. The Vanda (TF364) is a swooping, slightly futuristic silhouette that wraps the face for a confident and unorthodox take. Micro screws at the temples, a signature Tom Ford detail, enhance the look and grey or violet mask lenses add drama. The Thea (TF366) revamps a retro inspiration with a 1950s shape that is re-imagined by cutting away part of the acetate frame to lighten the look. A shiny pearl and blue mélange version complements more classic-coloured options.

Three new sunglass frames push shape and proportions to extremes. The ultra-round Juliet (TF369) is unabashedly evocative of 1970s femininity. Offered in black, havana or irresistible wine colour, its metal clip-on front creates a double-bridge effect for extra impact. The Anoushka (TF371) evolves a cat eye silhouette into an assertive, geometric-edged shape with extra-wide temples. A spectrum of shades ranges from chic classics to ultra-feminine choices like dove-gray or blue-violet with black temples. The Ivanna (TF372) is the ultimate expression of the Tom Ford eyewear DNA. Featuring the brand’s iconic criss-cross front and cutaway lenses, it is a wide, gently rounded mask shape that exemplifies urban glamour.

The Nina (TF373) is a seductive cat eye silhouette with a distinctive mix of acetate and metal edging with an innovative, satin finish. Clear acetate in nude, blue or brown surround the eyes, while an option in black acetate paired with gold metal edges, captures a more luxurious look.

Men’s sunglasses include a trio of aviator inspired frames. The Kristen (TF375) creates a strong look with a thick frame and pronounced bridge. This new iteration of a hallmark Tom Ford silhouette is offered in striking new colours such as striped blue and grey. The Edward (TF377) is an effortlessly sexy take on the metal-framed aviator, while the head-turning Sergio frame (TF379) merges the best of both designs. Its gleaming, metal edges surrounding coloured acetate and its distinctive open bridge make it a choice for a man who is very confident about his style.

A fourth aviator frame is intended for men and women. The Eva (TF374) uses a lightweight metal frame with slightly rounded proportions and combines the signature criss-cross front with aerodynamic temples. Meanwhile, the men’s River frame (TF367) evokes iconic 1950s eyewear with its square shape and contrast of acetate on top with metal below.

The Spring/Summer collection also introduces two unisex sunglass frames with a bold new take on the wrap-around lens. The Sasha (TF401) and Sedgewick (TF402) have lenses that geometrically fit into the temples giving an unusual corner-window effect. The Sasha has narrower lines and a more futuristic look while the Sedgewick’s wider silhouette gives it a sportier feel.

Optical frames this season are light and sophisticated, blending extremely refined design with impeccable fabrication and wearability. The women’s style TF5317 features sinuous lines in a cat eye shape and infuses black or havana fronts with subtle iridescence in blue or emerald. The TF5318 is a cat eye frame that epitomises sexy intelligence with its combination of acetate top and temples and fine metal lower rims. This effect is reprised for men in the square-shaped TF5323, though women may choose to wear this frame as well.

Men’s frames include the minimalist, aviator-style TF5319 that evokes the Kristen sunglass frame; the 1930s-inspired TF5321 which stands out with its thin metal bridge and temples, and the TF5322, which takes that vintage look in a striking new direction by encasing the frame’s thin, metal rim with acetate on each side. A woman with iconoclastic individual style may also wear these frames.
