Gangar Eyenation (GEN) is one of early companies to identify the need for early eyecare in Kids as 80 percent of their learning is visual and healthy eyes and vision are a critical part of kids’ development. Their eyes should be examined regularly, as many vision problems and eye diseases can be detected and treated early. Eye exams for children are very important to insure the child’s eyes are healthy and have no vision problems that could interfere with school performance.
A lesser known fact is that India houses 25% of the world’s blind population; 50% of which is curable; the cause being cataract and refractive errors.
However, Childhood blindness remains a significant problem globally, especially in developing countries. When eye diseases and conditions that occur in early childhood are left untreated, they can result in visual impairment or blindness.
These children face significant challenges to their educational, physical and social development as well as a lifetime without vision. The economic impact is substantial on the children and their families, as they are often unable to work due to lack of education and training opportunities for the visually impaired.
