ZEISS is an international leader in the fields of optics and optoelectronics. Globally ZEISS has been contributing to technological progress for more than 160 years – with solutions for the semiconductor, automotive and mechanical engineering industries, biomedical research and medical technology, as well as eyeglass lenses, camera and cine lenses, bin- oculars and planetariums. In fiscal year 2015/16 the company’s approximately 24,000 employees generated revenue of nearly 4.3 billion euros. The Vision Care business group of ZEISS is built on the philosophy of precision and quality. Starting with PUNKTAL – The first point focal lenses – in 1912, through continuous advancements, such as new coatings or the incorporation of the wear- er’s own visual parameters in the Gradal® series, ZEISS Vision is still setting new stand- ards in the area of spectacle lenses.
