ZEISS is an international leader in the fields of optics and optoelectronics. Globally ZEISS has been contributing to technological progress for more than 160 years – with solutions for the semiconductor, automotive and mechanical engineering industries, biomedical research and medical technology, as well as eyeglass lenses, camera and cine lenses, bin- oculars and planetariums. In fiscal year 2015/16 the company’s approximately 24,000 employees generated revenue of nearly 4.3 billion euros. Carl Zeiss is present in over 40 countries around the globe with about 40 production facilities, over 50 sales and service locations and service locations and approximately 20 research and development sites. Vision Care

The business group develops and produces technologically excellent instruments and offerings for the entire eyeglass value chain. With around 9,500 employees, the business group is one of the world’s leading providers of eyeglass lenses. The Vision Care business group of ZEISS is built on the philosophy of precision and quality. At the beginning of the 20th century, ZEISS revolutionized the calculation and manufac- ture of spectacle lenses. Starting with PUNKTAL – The first point focal lenses – in 1912, through continuous advancements, such as new coatings or the incorporation of the wear- er’s own visual parameters in the Gradal® series, ZEISS Vision is still setting new stand- ards in the area of spectacle lenses. The ZEISS brand stands for the highest quality, precision and innovation. A commitment towards continual quality improvement and customer orientation are key drivers for all our activities.
