When it comes to eye makeup and style, you should always ask the experts! Beauty expert Caroline Killeen answers your queries.
I have just been told that I need to wear glasses. I have a certain style about my makeup. Will this have to change?
Not knowing what your particular style of makeup is, I would firstly say that you should be careful not to lose yourself beneath your frames. Wearing frames all the time usually involves adjusting your makeup accordingly. So keep the following tips in mind:
- The colour of your eye-shadow should not compete with your frames
- Stronger coloured frames allows you to wear stronger makeup
- Waterproof mascara is your best option to prevent smudging
I purchased a fantastic pair of black statement frames, Clarke Kent style. My eyes are my best feature so they really stand out now. Any makeup suggestions to keep them well-framed?
It is great to hear someone so happy about their frames. This type of frame really does put the focus on your eyes so the skin tone around your eyes should be even, especially if you are not wearing any other makeup. Rid yourself of any under eye discolouration (most of us have some) using a good creamy concealer. Do the same by spotting areas on eyelids or go straight for an eye brightener or illuminator. (YSL Touche Éclat or Bobbi Brown Eye Brightener are good options.) Run a black line across the lash-line of your eyelid with liquid liner if you want definition, and add lots of waterproof mascara on lashes.
