Out of technology, design and brand, which aspect matters to you the most while buying eyewear?
Lenses are thinner and clearer today; sunglasses use technology to make vision better in different conditions. And the materials used for sunglasses are more eco-friendly today. However, design and brand are more visible aspects of a product these days. So of the three, what’s more important to you and what dictates your purchase?

I go for design as it makes a huge style statement. And like a bad haircut, the wrong pair can make you look 10 years older and frumpy!

I have to use glasses everyday, all day, since I was 5 years old. Due to the fact that glasses are not just an accessory but part of my identity, I value the design a lot. Although, the quality of the materials and the technology are the most important aspect when I buy them. I’m sensitive to the light so it’s important that the lenses are antireflective and also scratch-resistant. Having the possibility to reduce the thickness of the lenses is something that I value as well. On top of that, as a customer I think it’s very important to buy a product with quality warrantee.

For me when it comes to selecting eyewear, ‘design’ is the first priority. I’ve got to like them. I want them to look good on my face. They are an extension of my personality just like my clothing. Of course being functional is key too.

The potential symbiosis between a pair of glasses and one’s face would be the most important criteria. The perfect pair will enhance a character, or simply accentuate the particularities of a face. That is what the choices and designs should be based upon rather than trends alone.

I consider eyewear to be like watches or even cars. For me, the design is more important than the brand because I wear them as accessories. It’s the visible parts that make heads turn but I guess for sports, it’s the technology and material that must be considered.
