CooperVision Supports Vision Screening For Underprivileged School Children

The project funded by Cooper Vision through Optometry Giving Sight was launched by screening 650 children from Government Adi Dravida Welfare Higher Secondary School and provision of free spectacles to 43 children

CooperVision is a part of an ambitious project that will facilitate the vision screening of thirty thousand school children from underprivileged families. As part of the project, those identified with refractive errors will receive free spectacles.

Apart from the children from Government Adi Dravida Welfare Higher Secondary School, an additional 100 children from Advent Christian Primary School in Palavakkam were also screened and all diagnosed with refractive errors were provided free spectacles as well, during the initial phase of the campaign. The project is part of India Vision Institute’s (IVI), Eye See & I Learn campaign. It was launched in Chennai on March 1, this year.

CV-5--screeningEye See & I learn is part of the global Our Children’s Vision campaign to screen the vision of ten million children in partnership with several eye hospitals over the period 2016-2020.So far 13,658 children have been screened and 875 free spectacles have been provided across several states in India.
