S.R.Gopal Rao Opticians & Optometrists was established in the early 1930’s with roots dating back to the 1800’s. With a strong presence in Bangalore and being the oldest optician in the city, S.R.Gopal Rao has also focused on giving back to the society and its surroundings by involving itself in several free eye screening activities and city clean up drives. The eye screening events also involve giving away free spectacles to those in need. Along with the support of its partners and foundations, S.R.Gopal Rao Opticians as been able to successfully complete several eye screenings for the differently abled and lesser equipped individuals in Karnataka.
For families Off And Victims Of HIV Free Eye Screening And Donation Of Eyewear

The event took place in Krishnagiri in association with Essilor Vision Foundation and their partners. Victims of HIV and their family members were given complimentary eye check ups.
Effectiveness
Over 500 individuals were screened and 103 pairs of spectacles donates off which 40 pairs were from S R Gopal Rao Opticians.
Eye Check Up For Students Of Sajjan Rao High School

CSR Philosophy or Idea
390 students and teachers of the charity school at Sajjan Rao Circle Bangalore were checked. Off which 50 students belong to the special section. Eye screening was done in association with Sankara Eye Hospital and Essilor Vision Foundation. We supplied the frames and connected with the school to conduct the eye screening. Essilor provided the lenses and Sankara Eye did the eye check up.
Effectiveness
390 eye check ups and 25 pairs of prescription eye glasses donated by S R Gopal Rao Opticians. Event was covered by various regional media and appeared in over 10 publications and newspapers across the state and city.
Free Eye Screening For Members Of Cowrks

200 members of Cowrks were given free eye check ups and free consultation.
Effectiveness
Members were given advice on the right postures and eye hygiene to be followed while using computers and other digital devices. Awareness was spread on Computer Vision Syndrome, Increase of Individuals with Myopia, its impact and preventive measure or protective measures.
